The early years

Acquisition of Château Minuty by Gabriel Farnet
Minuty was originally a place name.
In 1936, wine merchant Gabriel Farnet discovered a 17-hectare vineyard there, as well as a 19th-century château and chapel. The man who already owned 20 hectares at the Domaine de Châteauneuf in Vidauban, decided to buy the estate from the Germondi family. Gabriel and his wife, Jeanne, settled there permanently after the Second World War. They then completely replanted the vineyard, abandoned during the occupation, with Grenache Noir, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grape varieties and began producing red and rosé wines.
In 1955, the estate was one of 23 properties recognized as a classified growth of the Côtes de Provence.
