La Bastide de Verez, the most recent of the Matton family's estates, is nestled at the foot of the Massif des Maures in a preserved environment of cork oaks and umbrella pines.
A great serenity emanates from the place where the view extends over 360°. The richness of the sandy-clay soils with their ochre-coloured hues has enabled the creation of a 40-hectare AOC Côtes de Provence vineyard, immediately adjacent to the family's oldest vineyard, Chateauneuf.
On arriving in Verez, all the emblematic elements of Provence come into view: terraces, olive trees, bastides. The dominance of green and ochre colours is striking.
Like a jewel box, nature envelops us and protects us from the hottest hours of summer. Sunsets set the landscape ablaze, giving it a wild aspect.
When we took over the estate, we decided to continue and expand the guest houses, so that we could share moments of life with our friends and guests.
